Ribafreixo Wines

I came across Ribafreixo wines, whilst dining at a restaurant in Madeira.   I did not recognise any of the wines on the wine list, as they were all Portuguese or local wines, so I started checking them out on Google.   I was so pleased to find, that all Ribafreixo wines are registered with The Vegan Society.

Ribafreixo have implemented a fully vegan friendly policy and this is what they say on their website:

As part of this new phase of change, Ribafreixo Wines has implemented a fully 'Vegan-Friendly' policy.   In our view this is a key concept in the modern world, both in the Portuguese and a number of international markets, where a vegan lifestyle is widely followed and cherished.

At Ribafreixo Wines we are aware of this importance and have opted to use alternative ingredients of mineral origin only.   We are committed to offering our vegan customers ingredients, that are not of animal origin or animal derivatives, assuring them that by consuming our wines, they will be faithful to the vegan concept and lifestyle.

This is also guaranteed on our back labels, where vegan customers will the find vegan brand/logo registered and authorsied by The Vegan Society, an international organisation promoting and supporting vegan products, lifestyle and everything connected with the vegan community.

I ordered the Gaudio Rose, it was a fabulous light wine, yet packed with flavour and I will certainly be looking out for Ribafreixo wines in the future.
