Quinta De Soalheiro

Quinta de Soalheiro, is in Melgaço (the most northern point of Portugal), surrounded by mountain ranges, which help to create the perfect environment of rain, temperature and sun, for growing the best Alvarinho grapes.   João Antonio Cerdeira planted the first Alvarinho vines in 1974 and in 1982 made the first Alvarinho brand "Soalheiro".  

I had seen their Alvarinho 2014 Vinho Verde on a wine list, in a very upmarket restaurant in Manchester, it was organic, so I decided to contact the vineyard and ask if their wines were vegan friendly.

I had a very speedy response from Luis, who confirmed that all their wines were vegan, how fantastic, I will certainly be looking out for them in the future.
